CureCell officially launched

On Tuesday, 23 November 2021 at UniSA’s fantastic MOD Museum, CureCell held its long-awaited launch.

Our inaugural Di Wood Scholarship recipients, Emma Roberts & Emily Freimayer, were there, fresh from completing their Honours year.

Melbourne-based Chair Ray Wood crossed the border just in time to join our other directors Leanna ReadCharlie Latham & Justin Coombs. Also in attendance Prof Simon Barry, who featured in our intro film about CureCell & what we want to achieve in 2022 (film produced by the excellent Lucy Cornes & team at She Digital).

Thank you to Kristin Alford & Lisa Bailey from MOD Museum for the use of the wonderful ‘Cell Invaders’ gallery that depicts CAR-T cell therapy in action.

Also a big thank you to launch sponsors PPS Mutual (Robyn Faber) and Marble Hill Wines (Patricia A Michell) and the wonderful ICC team (Jasmine VreugdenburgJulia Collins & Alex Ferrabetta).

CureCell is dedicated to targeting funding for targeted research – supporting the next generation of cell therapy scientists to tackle the big challenges – finding cures for cancer and autoimmune disease.
